The Community of the Beatitudes strives to be attentive to families in their need to foster spiritual growth and so together we can foster a “Domestic Church.” We have organized weekend retreats specifically designed to incorporate the whole family. We have used different locations in the mountains in Estes Park and Allenspark, CO. During summer we have hosted camping weekends and supported other family camps (e.g. with the Community of Saint John).
Some of our members are involved in Marriage preparation for engaged couples and instructing couples in Natural Family Planning. We have organized throughout the year “family rosary” afternoons (often outside), in a more relaxed atmosphere the family as a whole can seek the intercession of our Blessed Mother. Each time we have endeavored to bring the charism of the community so that the parents and children can encounter the living God who loves them. The retreats often focus on how to prepare families/parents to be missionaries of love in our world today.
