The Community of the Beatitudes in Denver is also a formation house which welcomes the first stages of discernment: Candidacy and Aspirancy. A team of consecrated and lay members of the Community provides this initial formation.
Candidacy: Before being received into the Community, a person is to be a “candidate”, visiting a Community House on a regular basis, so as to share in the life of the Community, to receive an initial formation, and to allow his or her call to mature.
Aspirancy: After the “candidacy”, the “aspirancy” or “common formation” is to allow the person to come to know and assimilate the charism of the Community of the Beatitudes. It is not only a period of intellectual formation, but a real school of life.
